J. Michal Conaway

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Peregrine Group, LLC

J. Michal Conaway has served as a director since May 2008. He is the founder and has served as the chief executive officer of Peregrine Group, LLC, an executive consulting firm, since 2002, and has been providing consulting services since 2000. Prior to 2000, Conaway held various management and executive positions, including serving as chief financial officer of Fluor Corporation, an engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance services provider. He serves as a director of Quanta Services, Inc. and Cherokee International Corporation, as well as a director of Elgin National Industries, Inc. and Enterra Holdings Ltd., both of which are privately held companies. Conaway holds an master's degree in business administration from Pepperdine University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).


Ernest L. Godshalk

Managing Director, Elgin Management Group

Ernest L. Godshalk has served as a director since July 2006. Godshalk is managing director of Elgin Management Group, a private investment company. He is also a director of Verigy Ltd., which provides test systems and solutions to the semiconductor industry, and Hittite Microwave Corporation, which provides integrated circuits, modules and systems for technically demanding radio frequency, microwave and millimeterwave applications. From February 2001 until he retired in December 2004, Godshalk served as president, chief operating officer and a director of Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates, Inc., a supplier of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. From April 1999 until February 2001, Godshalk served as Varian Semiconductor's vice president and chief financial officer. Godshalk is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Business School.


Matthew E. Massengill

Former Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Western Digital Corporation

Matthew E. Massengill has served as a director since September 2008 and as Chairman of the Board since November 2010. He served as Chairman of the Board of Western Digital Corporation, a worldwide manufacturer of computer hard disk drives, from 2001 to 2007, as chief executive officer from 2000 to 2005 and as president from 2000 to 2002. From 1998 to 2000, Massengill was the chief operating officer of Western Digital Corporation. He is currently on the Board of Directors of Western Digital Corporation; Conexant, a manufacturer of silicon semiconductor devices; and Microsemi Corporation, a manufacturer of silicon and silicon carbide semiconductors. Massengill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Purdue University.


Tom Gutierrez

President, Chief Executive Officer and Director

Tom Gutierrez is GT Advanced Technologies’ president and chief executive officer, and a member of its board of directors. Gutierrez has extensive international experience in product development, manufacturing, marketing and sales. Prior to assuming his position at GT, Gutierrez served as chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors of Xerium Technologies Inc., a multinational company that develops, manufactures and markets technically advanced synthetic textiles. He was previously chief executive officer of Invensys Power Systems, a $3 billion multinational business and world leader in power control and energy storage products, systems and services for industrial applications. Gutierrez has also held several executive officer positions with Pulse Engineering, Pitney Bowes, Inc. and Motorola, Inc. Gutierrez holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Florida Institute of Technology. He currently serves on the board of directors of Verso Paper Corp., Comverge, Inc. and PhytoChem Pharmaceuticals, a company he founded.


Noel Watson

Chairman, Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc.

Noel Watson has served as a director since November 2008. He is also chairman of Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc., a global provider of technical, professional, and construction services with approximately 57,000 employees and annual revenues exceeding $11 billion. Starting as a process engineer, Watson has spent more than 40 years with Jacobs Engineering Group, becoming president in 1987, chief executive officer in 1992, and chairman in 2006. Watson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering and an honorary doctorate from the University of North Dakota.


Mary Petrovich

Former General Manager, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AxleTech International LLC

Mary Petrovich served as general manager of AxleTech International LLC, a supplier of off-highway and specialty vehicle drive train systems and components, since its acquisition by General Dynamics in December 2008 until June 2011. She served as chairman and chief executive officer of AxleTech International from 2001 through the December 2008 sale of the company. Ms. Petrovich is also a director of Woodward, Inc and Modine Manufacturing Company.


Robert E. Switz

Former Director, President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of ADC Telecommunications, Inc.

Robert E. Switz served as a director, president and chief executive officer of ADC Telecommunications, Inc. from 2003 to 2010 and as its Chairman from 2008 to 2010. ADC Telecommunications, Inc. was a supplier of network infrastructure products and services, which was acquired by Tyco International. Mr. Switz is also a director of Broadcom Corporation and Micron Technology, Inc.
